Let’s Recap: A Week In Review

Friday, January 21st, 2011 by admin

It’s Friday!!! This week felt especially long, despite Monday being a holiday. It’s never fun when you realize that a Monday off work just means that you have just as much to do, but you have to do it in four days instead of five. Our week consisted of purchase orders, shopping new lines, sampling beauty products (SO fun!), putting beautiful pictures on the blog, finding new merchandise for our store and finishing uploading everything so that our store will be ready for you in EIGHT days! Just in case you missed any of the posts this week, let’s do a quick recap:

  • Monday we paid tribute to one of our personal hero’s, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reminded ourselves of his words of challenge and inspiration as we dared to keep dreaming his dreams.
  • After she shut down the Golden Globes with her stunning Armani Prive dress, we had to do a style star blog on the stunning Anne Hathaway on Tuesday.
  • On Wednesday, we took a moment and praised the gorgeous Alessandra Ambrosio for her creative and beautiful editorial fashion spreads.
  • Thursday we challenged all of you to join us in our 2011 challenge: to drink more water! If you haven’t read this post yet, you need to catch up on why it is that we’re committing to this. There are so many perks to drinking more water!
  • Again, we couldn’t help ourselves today and had to put up more teaser shots of stuff we’ll have in our store when it launches next week! Did you sign up yet? Don’t miss out on the chance to get access 2 days early and also to get a $20 gift card! Don’t forget to follow us on facebook so that you can also get the code for free shipping!

Have a safe and wonderful weekend! Tweet, e-mail or facebook us so we stay in touch! We’d hate to miss out on what you’re doing.

Inspiration Monday:: Dare To Dream

Monday, January 17th, 2011 by admin

We hope that you all, or at least most of you, are enjoying a Monday free from work! We can’t help but meditate on why today is in fact a holiday, and the sacrifice that was taken to give so many of us that freedom that we daily take for granted. Isn’t it remarkable that one man followed his dreams at any cost? That he believed in a cause, in basic civil rights, enough to fight until his death? Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was unwilling to let someone else stand in the way of him achieving his dreams, his dreams for you and for me. So please excuse our lack of fashion included in this post, but today is the day that we pay honor to one of the most inspirational men in our country’s history, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. May you spend your day honoring a man who fought for your current reality, and who refused to let his dreams and visions go to waste. What could possibly be more inspirational than that?

Dr. King, may this be our reverent letter of thanksgiving for the sacrifices that you made to teach us that our dreams really can become a reality if we never, ever, ever, ever give up. There will never be enough words to say thank you.

“All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.”

“I just wanna do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain, and I’ve looked over, and I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land.”

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

“Deep in my heart, I do believe, that we shall overcome…We will be able to rise from the fatigue of despair to the buoyancy of hope, and this will be a great America.”
