Next week marks the beginning of the holiday gathering season! From now until Christmas, you’ll probably get invited to at least one holiday party per week. You’ll need a heavy rotation of dresses, tights and sparkly clutches. And lots of caffeine. And also, lots of host/hostess gifts. This may be an outdated concept to some, but we believe that it’s one that we should bring back this year. If someone takes the time to host a fabulous party, the guests should do a little something to make him/her feel appreciated, right? Of course, you could always bring a dessert or a bottle of wine. But let’s kick it up a notch, shall we? Here’s a list of our favorite host/hostess gifts for the holiday season. You’ll definitely be a permanent staple on the invite list if you show up with one of these!
Have you guys heard of Leaf TV? It’s one of my favorite YouTube channels. The brainchild of Geri Hirsch and Erin Falconer, Leaf releases videos every Tuesday and Friday. Each video is a simple tutorial or recipe and I love love love them all! The video I’m sharing today is a simple Apple Cider Vinegar recipe. It’s so perfect for a Fall party or just a lazy Saturday morning. Try it and let me know what you think!
Yesterday, my sister woke me up at 8am asking if I had been to Target yet. I was still sleeping, but I immediately started freaking out that I hadn’t been there when the doors opened. Luckily, I was able to grab some excellent pieces when I finally did go, but I missed all of the bags. Did you guys get anything? What are your favorite pieces from the collection? I’m obsessed with all of the leopard pieces.
We’ve been talking about transitioning our wardrobes from Summer to Fall, but what do we do about our makeup? I love a dark nail polish in the Fall and we all love a good berry lip, but isn’t it too early for that? I mean, it’s still 80 degrees where I live! I’m ready to store my coral lipsticks and peachy blushes, but I’m not quite ready to pull out my foundation and matte lipstick. So I’m thinking fresh-faced is the way to go. It’s chic and pretty without being overly done. And it will look fantastic whether you’re headed to class like me or to New York Fashion Week. Grab a beautiful tinted moisturizer (Laura Mercier and Becca make my current favorites), a complimentary blush/bronzer to give a healthy, but not exactly sun-kissed, glow (Tom Ford Savage is my absolute favorite), and a nude/pink gloss (nothing’s better than Chanel’s Intrigue Glossimer). What are your go-to products for a natural beauty look?
