Inspiration Monday:: Being An Innovator

Monday, April 16th, 2012 by admin

The women in history that we all honor and respect the most were women who chose to take a daring stance on life. They were seldom the meek women who kept to themselves and followed the rules set before them. No, instead the Oprahs and the Eleanor Roosevelts took a stance and took risks and never let anyone tell them who they were meant to be. Instead, they became who they believed they could be. There’s such a powerful difference. We strive to be innovators- women who have ideas and see them through until they becomes a reality! We strive to be women that are respected and honored ,during and after our lives, for our great ideas, creativity, character and risks that we took while on this earth. Become an innovator that’s full of ideas that no one has dare spoken before! This greatness lies within every one of us, don’t let it go untapped.

Dream A Little {Fashion} Dream::

If you are in the DC metro area like me you must be wondering where is spring! With temps in the low 60′s (if we’re lucky), we are forced to dream of sunny days. Dreaming for me means a fabulous website with designer ensembles! The Posh team has a running joke that I seem to have a biased affection for the over priced, I say if you’re going to dream, go all the way! Donna Karan seems to always have something perfect for every season and the unpredictable in-between. She covers the “over 30″ curves with a sexy assurance that makes every woman glad God made her just that! Check out what she has in stores now……. and dream a little. At least we can splurge in our minds!

We Believe In Empowering Women::

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 by admin

You know that at POSH one of our main focus points is empowering women in all aspects of life. So when we came across the incredible Sabrina Barnett, we knew that we needed to learn more because we think you’ll like her too. Here’s a little bit about her background:

Sabrina Barnett is no stranger to the fashion scene. This Haitian and Cuban beauty has been modeling since age 13. By age 18 she was crowned a national dance champion and her career skyrocketed. She’s graced numerous international magazine covers and been on the cover of the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue among other hugely acclaimed magazines. In 2008 she began designing her own fashion line entitled “Empowering Women Collection”. She’s huge on giving back and has been working with The Woman’s Cancer Association for over 4 years! This is a woman that doesn’t stop working, keeps giving back and keeps standing up for what she believes in. She is SUCH a POSH woman!

When we found out more about this Empowering Women Collection, we knew that we needed to carry her line in our Boutique. It’s all so POSH! Plus, check out their awesome mission statement:

We each have the ability to inspire one another through positive expression. Through these expressions of love and empowerment we become the messenger of elevated consciousness.

Live Your Smile
Trust Your Intuition
Seek Wisdom and Clarity

So not only does her company stand for something awesome, but every piece of her clothing does as well. Her shirts are emblazoned with encouraging messages such as “You’re Worthy” or “I Lead The Love Revolution”. Cool, right? Here are some of our favorite pieces:

All her shirts retail for only $38 and are made of the softest cotton. You’ll absolutely love the way they fit and feel, and you’ll be proud to walk around making such an encouraging {and beautiful!} statement!

Inspiration Monday:: Channeling Peace

Monday, April 2nd, 2012 by admin

Despite your busy schedule- the work meetings,the soccer practices, the weekend recitals, the business trips and everything else that goes into being a full time woman- you have to learn to keep the peace. Inner peace is your stability board; it’s your emotional center of gravity by which all your actions stem from. Remember the last time you let your peace get away and you snapped at the closest person to you? Trust us, it happens more than we’d all like to admit, but it doesn’t have to. Invest in yourself and your peace. Learn to understand how you can maintain that peace when everything else around you seems hectic. Does yoga bring you to inner peace? Maybe a 20 minute afternoon break to read your favorite blog re-centers your focus. Or maybe for you it’s reading a couple of chapters of your favorite book or maybe it’s taking 30 minutes once a week to get a manicure. Whatever it is, find it, because the health of the relationships you have with the people around you depend on that peace.
