This is another post that I originally created for my blog, Style & Sucré, but felt it would be beneficial for my Posh readers. Hope you enjoy! xx
If I could only repurchase one beauty product for the rest of the year, it would most definitely be the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. Out of all of the new products I’ve been trying on my skin in the last few months, this has been the most effective, hands down. I first heard of this cleanser during the many hours I’ve spent watching beauty tutorials and product reviews on YouTube. Many of the beauty gurus I follow are British, so I often find myself purchasing beauty products from European brands. If there’s a product that both Sali Hughes and Lisa Eldridge love, it’s only a matter of time before I order it. And if I’m being honest, those products are usually the ones I love most and repurchase again and again.
After trying the Eve Lom cleanser for a few weeks, I found that I really liked the experience of using it, but I wasn’t sure that it was giving me the amazing results I was looking for. My skin was definitely softer and less dehydrated, but it wasn’t wowing me. And the more I used it, the more I detested the scent. So I decided to order Liz Earle’s cleanser and see if I liked it better. I’m so glad I did because immediately after the first cleanse, I knew I had found the holy grail of cleansers.
First of all, I am obsessed with the scent and feel like I’m at the spa every time I use it. And I love that it is made with all natural ingredients including cocoa butter and eucalyptis oil (and it does not contain mineral oil). Second, I’m still getting that Eve Lom experience. I fill my bathroom sink with hot water and soak the muslin cloth that comes with it. Then I rub one pump of the cleanser all over my dry face, rubbing it over my eyes and eyelashes last. I then wipe everything off with my hot cloth (which is the “polish” portion of the cleanse). If I’m wearing a lot of makeup, I’ll cleanse twice: once to remove my makeup and once to really cleanse my skin. Each cleanse leaves my skin soft, smooth and not the least bit dehydrated or dry. And the best part? I’ve been using this cleanser every day (morning and night) for a little more than a month and I have only broken out one time. And it was a “hormonal” breakout brought on by cramps and an over-consumption of chocolate, if you know what I mean. And even then, it was just a few small bumps whereas before I was battling clusters of them.
All in all, I highly recommend this cleanser. It’s suitable for all skin types, is extremely well priced (for a high end cleanser), comes in a variety of sizes (in case you’d like to try a small bottle first) and it just works. And thankfully, it’s now available in the U.S. thanks to Birchbox! I also heard that current Birchbox subscribers will receive a sample of Cleanse & Polish in the October box so if you haven’t subscribed yet, this month would be a great time! Happy Cleansing!
