Have you seen the Chanel Summer 2013 beauty collection? It’s called L’été Papillion de Chanel and it was inspired by butterflies. A beautiful explosion of color doesn’t even begin to describe this collection! I’m in love with all of it, but especially the electric mascaras. And they’re waterproof! What do you think? I think many women underestimate the power of makeup. With just a few simple steps, you can go from pretty to pretty to flawless. I don’t believe you should ever use makeup to change your face (unless you’re going to costume party!). Instead it should be used to hide small imperfections and bring out your best features. Bobbi Brown is one of my favorite makeup artists. She believes that with the right makeup, every woman can go from pretty to pretty powerful. The women in my family have been wearing Bobbi Brown Cosmetics for years. Everyone from my grandmother to my little sister. Her line has something for every skin type, skin tone and mood. And I think a little Bobbi Brown makeup kit would be a fabulous Mother’s Day gift. Do you wear foundation? If so, do you wear it often or just for special occasions? If not, why not? Is it because you feel like it’s too heavy or looks unnatural? Maybe you just haven’t found the right one yet. I think many women misunderstand foundation. I sure did. A few years ago, I wouldn’t even look at foundation while shopping for beauty products. I thought it was only for special occasions or photo shoots. But in reality, foundation (or tinted moisturizer if you have great skin) is an essential tool for creating a flawless, even face. Do I wear it everyday? Absolutely not! But I’ve discovered it’s power and can’t live without it. My favorite makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge has created a foundation series to help you learn how to shop for foundation, how to choose the right type/color and how to apply it. I encourage all of you to watch it, even if you have a tried and true foundation in your beauty bag. You never know what you might learn! I’m obsessed with nails….mine, my mother’s, my daughter’s! When my girls were young, I think I was the only mother forcing the nail salon issue. Jerrell would literally beg to miss her appointment which is still hilarious to me! I must have eventually rubbed off on her because her investment in nail lacquer is ridiculous! But it could also be because of her amazing engagement ring (I sneak and try it on every time she takes it off). My how life changes! Nevertheless, details are everything. Keep them short, neat and colorful….get obsessed!
