We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’re really working on creating the ultimate health plan for our lives in 2011. Life is just easier the healthier you are. After all, Life IS Posh, and we are pretty committed to really living it! We started with adding Bikram Yoga to regular work out routine, invited all of you to join us while walking for a good cause at The Hope Walk, and today we’re challenging all of you to join us in our newest discovery: water.
We know how silly that sounds, and we know that you’re probably shaking your head, but have you looked into the facts lately? Did you know that it’s essential to drink water to aid in the process of weight loss? Water makes your metabolism burn calories 3% faster! We get it, water is definitely not our natural go to when we’re thirsty. We adore coffee, love a crisp Diet Coke and could drink a 3rd grader under the table with our juice intake. But once we started doing our research, we couldn’t turn our backs on these facts:
- You know how obsessed we are with glowing skin? Well water is the ultimate skin care. It keeps your skin (your body’s largest organ) properly hydrated, which results in looking more full and radiant. It keeps the toxins flushed out and your skin absolutely radiating with beauty.
- Water helps to regulate our appetite by keeping you more full in between meals. While soda’s, latte’s and juice’s often are hugely high in sugars and calories, water is completely clear of everything bad for you, which will keep you from gaining weight when you aren’t even eating.
- What’s worse than the 3pm crash that hits you every day at work? Did you know that’s almost always just a case of mild dehydration that can be solved by drinking enough water earlier in the day? It also helps to keep your mind sharp and alert, so you can finish your work day strong.
It’s recommended that you drink 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds of body weight, or at least 64 ounces per day. If you’re struggling to drink enough water, you can also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, as they are full of water that can hydrate your body.
So will you join us in our water war, where we commit to drinking a minimum of 64 ounces per day as we watch our skin change, our energy soar and our overall health increase? Come on, here’s to a better version of yourself in 2011!

So proud of you Cheryl! I love water and keep it close by all day but still find it hard to get half my bodyweight in ounces in. Thank you POSH for focusing on our health, fashion and happiness in 2011!
As a person who hates water, I will commit to increasing my intake. I could stand to lose about 20+ lbs. Just downed 16oz. Will keep you posted!
